Our parent company, Thick and Thin Agri-Products, Inc., began modestly in March 1990. It was incorporated and duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) under Certificate of Registration No. 174503, dated March 7, 1990.

During its early days, the company shared a facility with Chan Master on Reparo Street in Caloocan City. It began with only a few employees and locally fabricated manufacturing equipment, serving a small group of selected customers. Many of these customers had previously worked with the company’s founder and incorporator, Mr. Hsieh Shih Ying, during his time as Farm Manager and Consultant of Atlas Farm in Dalig, Antipolo, Rizal. He applied his extensive knowledge of hog and poultry farming, acquired through years of experience in Taiwan and later at Atlas Farm, to develop the company’s products and operations.

Despite relying on fabricated and outdated machinery during its first year, the company’s feed products received an overwhelmingly positive market response. Orders increased rapidly within a short period. At the time, the company was managed directly by its founder, supported by an experienced Sales Manager and a small but dedicated team of employees and production workers.

As demand continued to grow, limited production capacity and insufficient storage space became recurring challenges. The company therefore relocated to a larger rented facility in Mapulang Lupa, then part of the Municipality of Valenzuela and now Valenzuela City. The expanded site provided additional space for production, finished goods, and the warehousing of raw materials, allowing the company to better serve its growing customer base.

By 1993, after only three years of operation, Thick and Thin Agri-Products had become one of the most sought-after emerging feed manufacturers in the market. Sales grew rapidly, creating another need for larger and more modern facilities. The company began planning a new plant that could accommodate its production operations and administrative offices while incorporating state-of-the-art, computerized manufacturing equipment and a modern pelleting system.

In 1997, the company acquired a two-hectare property in Barangay Duhat, Bocaue, Bulacan, as the site of its new manufacturing plant. Construction was completed, and the facility became fully operational in August 1999.

Today, Thick and Thin Agri-Products carries a complete line of hog, poultry, and aquaculture feeds and serves customers throughout Luzon through its network of accredited distributors, dealers, sub-dealers, and end users. The strong acceptance of the company’s products is particularly evident in Batangas, where many livestock growers and feed-mill owners—including stakeholders of other reputable feed manufacturers—also use the company’s feed products.

The company is supported by a team of competent and experienced sales and technical professionals. Its laboratory conducts technical analyses of both finished feed products and the raw materials used in production. The company also maintains a fleet of delivery vehicles to ensure that customer orders are delivered efficiently and reliably.

Throughout its history, Thick and Thin Agri-Products has successfully weathered numerous industry and economic challenges, including the foot-and-mouth disease outbreak that severely affected the hog industry, the Asian financial crisis, and other periods of economic uncertainty. While many businesses struggled during these difficult times, the company remained resilient and continued its operations.

The company has also received recognition from the Bureau of Animal Industry, the government agency responsible for supervising the animal-feed industry and ensuring compliance with national rules and regulations governing feed manufacturing.

In early 2002, the company’s President devoted more of his time to the Taiwan Association Philippines, Inc., after being duly elected as its President. His sons, whom he had personally trained and mentored, assumed greater responsibility for the company’s marketing and operations. Under their management, the company further increased its market share and strengthened the position of its animal-feed products.

Looking ahead, Thick and Thin Agri-Products remains focused on expanding its market presence. While the company continues to exercise caution amid economic and political uncertainties, it is prepared to pursue vigorous nationwide expansion as conditions become more stable.
