Company Overview

History

Thick and Thin Agri-Products Inc. had its humble beginnings in March 1990, when it was established and officially registered with the Security & Exchange Commission (SEC), receiving Certificate of Registration No. 174503 dated March 7, 1990. Initially, as a startup, it shared a space with CHAN MASTER on Reparo St., Caloocan City. Starting with just a few workers and utilizing fabricated manufacturing equipment, the company aimed to serve a limited number of selected customers. These customers were the same individuals who had previously been associated with the founder and incorporator, HSIEH SHIH YING, during his time as the Farm Manager/consultant at ATLAS FARM in Dalig, Antipolo, Rizal. Drawing from his extensive experience in Hog and Poultry management, gained both in Taiwan and with Atlas Farm, HSIEH SHIH YING spearheaded the operation.

During the first year of our operation using fabricated and antiquated machineries, the company witnessed an extraordinary acceptance of its manufactured feeds. Orders poured in rapidly, driven by the impressive quality of the products. Despite the challenges, including the company being manned by HSIEH SHIH YING himself, a skilled Sales Manager, and a handful of dedicated employees and workers, the business thrived. The limitations of plant capacity and space soon became apparent, necessitating the search for a larger site. Consequently, a decision was made to rent a more spacious area at Mapulang Lupa, Municipality of Valenzuela, now Valenzuela City. This expansion aimed to cater to the growing number of satisfied customers who favored the company’s feed products.

By 1993, merely three years into operation, the company had achieved significant recognition, becoming one of the top new and modern feeds manufacturers, ranking among the most sought-after. Sales experienced exponential growth, prompting the need for an even more extensive and accommodating plant facility. To address this, the company embarked on an endeavor to enhance its manufacturing capabilities. This included the installation of state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment, introducing computerized processes, and incorporating a palletizing machine.

In 1997, the company acquired a 2-hectare parcel of land in Barangay Duhat, Bocaue, Bulacan, earmarking it as the future site for its new plant facilities. By August 1999, construction of the plant was successfully completed and it became operational. Presently, the facility hosts an exhaustive range of Hog, Poultry, and Aqua Feeds, catering to clients across Luzon. It has established partnerships with accredited distributors, dealers, sub-dealers, and users. This acceptance of the company’s product lines is particularly notable in Batangas, where numerous feed manufacturers, consisting of Grower/owners affiliated with reputable feed mills, opt for the company’s feed products.

The plant is currently home to a capable workforce, featuring 8 seasoned sales representatives, 4 experienced veterinary doctors, and a chemist responsible for meticulous laboratory analyses of both the feed products and the raw materials used in their creation. To fulfill orders efficiently, the company maintains a fleet of delivery vehicles at its disposal.

Over the years, the company has adeptly maneuvered through various challenges, including the FMD outbreak, avian influenza, and African swine fever, which had significant impacts on the industry. Furthermore, we successfully navigated the Asian economic crisis and other testing situations where many stumbled. This resilience exemplifies the company’s ability to triumph over adversity.

In recognition of our commitment to quality, the company has been acknowledged by the Bureau of Animal Industry, the authoritative body overseeing compliance with state regulations in the animal feed manufacturing sector. In 2020, a testament to our dedication, we achieved the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Certification.

At present, Thick and Thin Agri-Products Inc. maintains its stature as a firmly established presence in the feed industry, solidifying its role as one of the primary contenders in the Philippine market.
